This workshop is a suitable beginners project - If you have always wanted to try making your own clothes but were unsure where to start, you are in the right place. The workshop is limited to only 4 students so you will get plenty of one to one time and assistance. You will be taken step by step from how to prepare and cut your fabric, how to set up a sewing machine, and how to choose the best sewing methods for your fabric. At the end of the day you will walk away from the workshop with a beautifully handmade and professional looking top.

The LB Pullover is a popular beginners sewing pattern. The body is cut wide and boxy with a relaxed fit and low dropped shoulders. The dropped shoulders enable the style to have ample room around the bicep but still allow the sleeves to be cut straight and slim so you have the golden combination of comfort without being swamped in fabric. You can choose on the day which variation of the pattern you want to sew, it comes with/without sleeves or with/without a collar.

The LB Pullover requires little fitting adjustments for most people, but we will address any fitting issues or concerns in the class.

Fabric of your choice – I recommend 1.5 metres for sizes 6 -16 and 1.7 metres for sizes 18 - 28. Fabric should be pre-washed at 40 degrees and ironed. You want to go for something midweight, non-stretch and with a solid structure as this is easiest for new sewers. I recommend linen, cotton twill, drill, or canvas - even a light weight denim or woven wool would be suitable for winter.

Thread colour of your choice -just one spool will be enough.

Lunch - There are shops and cafes are close by.
